How often are CS2 Majors held?
Two Majors per calendar year, typically Spring (March-May) and Fall (September-November). Each features 24 teams across two stages: Opening + Elimination Swiss-format groups (16 teams advance), then a single-elimination Champions Stage of 8 teams playing for a $1.25M+ prize pool.
How do teams qualify for a CS2 Major?
Qualification flows through Regional Major Rankings (RMR) tournaments held in each region (Europe, Americas, Asia-Pacific). Teams accumulate ranking points across the season; the top finishers from each RMR earn a Major slot. The defending Major champion gets an automatic invite.
