Vitality have done it again. The world’s No. 1 side swept NAVI 3-0 in the BLAST Rivals 2026 Season 1 grand final on 3 May, lifting their fifth consecutive CS2 trophy and stretching one of the most absurd runs in the modern era. The headline scoreline doesn’t capture how close map one was to a different story.
Nuke was nearly the upset of the year
NAVI opened Nuke at a blistering pace and built an 11-0 lead — the kind of half where you start checking which Vitality round broke first. It didn’t matter. Vitality stabilised, dragged the map into overtime, and closed it 16-12. From there the series was effectively decided. Anubis went 13-11 in a tighter rhythm, and Dust2 became a 13-3 demolition where Vitality’s T side looked the way it has all year.
Five in a row, and the streak that defines them
The win takes Vitality to 27 consecutive playoff map wins and 15 grand-final maps in a row across 2026 — both records in the modern CS2 era. ZywOo and ropz remained the spine, mezii’s clutches kept popping up in the high-leverage rounds, and apEX captained another flawless Bo5 closeout.
What’s next
Vitality say they’re tired, and even through the dominance you can hear it in interviews. flameZ has been open about the schedule load, and XTQZZZ acknowledged that the rest of the field is increasingly motivated to take them down. None of that has changed the result yet. The next major test is whether anyone in the post-Major calendar can put together a Bo5 that actually scares them.
