How does the CS2 map veto work?
Both teams alternate banning and picking maps from the active competitive pool (currently 7 maps: Mirage, Inferno, Anubis, Nuke, Overpass, Ancient, Dust 2). Each team bans 3 maps, then alternates picks for the deciding map. The veto adds tactical depth — teams target opponents' weak maps and protect their strong ones.
What is MR12 in CS2?
MR12 (Maximum Rounds 12) means each half is up to 12 rounds — first to 13 round wins takes the map. If tied 12-12, overtime begins (3 rounds per side, first to 4 wins OT). MR12 replaced the legacy MR15 from CS:GO to reduce match length from ~50 to ~40 minutes on average.
Is Premier mode free-to-play?
Premier mode requires CS2 Prime status — a one-time $14.99 / €13.99 purchase that includes Premier matchmaking access, drops, weapon cases and an XP-rank cosmetic system. Without Prime you can play casual modes and Wingman but not Premier.
