Ukrainian AWPer Yegor “markeloff” Markelov has been inducted into the HLTV Hall of Fame Class of 2025, earning recognition for one of Counter-Strike’s most dominant individual peaks. The former Natus Vincere star secured his place in history primarily through his extraordinary 2010-2011 campaign that transformed NAVI into a global force.
The 2010 masterclass that defined an era
Markeloff’s Hall of Fame credentials rest not on longevity but on pure impact. His 2010 season with NAVI stands among Counter-Strike 1.6’s greatest individual campaigns. The Ukrainian sniper spearheaded victories at IEM IV World Championship, ESWC, WCG, and multiple Arbalet Cup events, posting a staggering 1.22 rating with 0.78 kills per round.
HLTV crowned him the world’s best player for 2010, highlighting his consistency across 80% of matches rated above 1.00. At IEM IV World Championship in Hannover, markeloff delivered a tournament-defining 1.26 rating with 0.38 AWP kills per round, setting the standard for elite sniping that year.
Sustained excellence into 2011
The following year proved his dominance wasn’t a fluke. NAVI successfully defended their IEM World Championship title with markeloff maintaining elite form. HLTV ranked him third globally in 2011, trailing only NEO and GeT_RiGhT, while noting his MVP-calibre performances at five of eight major tournaments attended.
His transition to CS:GO brought different challenges but still yielded notable achievements. After departing NAVI, markeloff captured TECHLABS Cup 2013 Finals with Astana Dragons, earning his sole official MVP award. Later stints with HellRaisers and FlipSid3 saw him adapt to supportive roles while helping the latter qualify for eight consecutive Majors.
Legacy beyond individual success
Markeloff’s influence extends far beyond personal accolades. Current NAVI superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has cited the Ukrainian legend as a childhood inspiration, with the pair later becoming teammates on HellRaisers and FlipSid3. As Ukraine’s first HLTV Hall of Fame inductee, markeloff paved the way for his country’s subsequent Counter-Strike excellence.
The 2025 class also welcomes Raphael “cogu” Camargo and Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, selected by an 11-person expert panel. Inductees receive permanent recognition, dedicated profiles, commemorative content, and a Hall of Fame-inscribed Rolex watch. For markeloff, this honour validates a peak that helped define Counter-Strike 1.6’s final chapter and established NAVI’s global identity.
