What is KAST in CS2?

How is KAST calculated?

For each round, the system checks whether a player meets ANY of the four conditions: K (got a kill), A (got an assist of 25+ damage), S (survived the round) or T (was killed but a teammate killed their attacker within 5 seconds). The percentage of rounds meeting at least one condition is KAST.

Why does KAST matter?

KAST measures non-frag contribution that pure kill stats miss. A support player might post 0.7 KD but 80% KAST — meaning they're consistently in 80% of rounds doing something useful (assists, surviving for retake, getting traded). Coaches weight KAST heavily for evaluating IGLs and lurkers whose kill counts undersell their value.

What is a good KAST percentage?

Tier-1 pros average around 70% KAST. 75-80% KAST is excellent and typical of top-30 individual seasons; 80%+ is reserved for elite IGLs and supports who consistently shape rounds without leading the scoreboard. Star riflers can post 70-75% with 1.20+ rating.
