Alliance survived a Bo3 thriller against Lavked in the BC Game Masters Europe Series #1 Round of 16, taking the series 2-1 with a 16-13 overtime win on Dust2 after dropping the opener 3-13 and pulling map two back 13-7. The kind of match that says less about the favourite and more about the underdog’s ceiling — and about how a Bo3 can swing on a single map of nerves.
The 3-13 wake-up call
Alliance entered as the bookmaker favourite at 1.26-1.28 across both providers, with three rated fraggers (MaiL09 1.16, avid 1.12, eraa 1.11) and a 350-match career baseline. The opening map didn’t reflect any of that. Lavked controlled the rounds early, built a structural lead Alliance couldn’t recover from, and closed the map 13-3 — a half-and-out result that flipped the series read instantly.
Map two reset everything
Alliance’s response was textbook bounce-back Bo3. Pistol round won, anti-eco converted, T-side momentum sustained — 13-7 on map two, with the trio of MaiL09, avid and eraa producing the structural rounds the opener had asked for. Series tied, momentum reset.
Dust2 went to overtime
The decider was the closest map of the series — 16-13 in overtime in Alliance’s favour. Lavked, on a 65.38% career winrate from a smaller 26-match sample, were competitive throughout regulation but lost the late-round duels that decide overtime maps. Alliance advance to the next round; Lavked exit with a real credit-line built against Tier-2 European opposition that should reshape their next bracket pricing.
