What is overtime in CS2?
Overtime in CS2's MR12 format is MR3: 3 rounds per side for a 6-round OT. The first team to 4 OT rounds wins. Players start with $10,000 — enough for a full buy — so OT rounds typically look like full-buy vs full-buy combat without the classic eco cycle. If the OT ends 3-3, another OT is played, and so on until someone reaches 4. Famous marathon matches reach 2-3 OTs and final scores like 22-20 or 25-21. Overtime is emotionally tense and extremely strategically clean: without economy variance, it comes down to who executes better on fresh full buys.
