The 2027 CS calendar just got tighter. PGL has announced PGL Łódź 2027 for March 18-28 at Atlas Arena — almost entirely overlapping with BLAST Premier Singapore Open 2027 (March 15-28). Both events feature 16 teams. Teams must pick one.
The format and qualification
PGL Łódź takes 14 teams via the December 7 Global VRS, plus two from a European qualifier. The 15,000-seat Atlas Arena hosts — PGL’s return to Poland nearly a decade after the legendary PGL Major Krakow 2017. BLAST Singapore brings a $1.25 million prize pool and expects teams on the ground in Singapore from March 17 through 29. The travel logistics make doubling up impossible.
The new withdrawal rule
The PGL announcement included a notable integrity provision. Any roster withdrawing from a PGL event after accepting the invite, regardless of timing or reason, may be disqualified from a Direct VRS Invite to the next PGL event. Valve’s tournament rules allow this — organizers can publish integrity rules that affect Direct VRS Invites, provided the rules are transparent, objective, and applied uniformly. The intent is clear: PGL doesn’t want to be the calendar’s fallback option for teams whose first choice falls through.
The bigger trend
HLTV previously noted four BLAST events clashing with PGL tournaments in 2027. PGL has committed to six events that year. The trend is the same as the current Astana / Atlanta overlap viewers just lived through — two top-tier finals fighting for the same Sunday. For teams, 2027 is going to be a year of harder calendar choices, not easier ones.
