What is a rifler in CS2?
Rifler is the default CS2 role. The AK and M4 are the workhorse weapons of the game — 4-bullet kills within typical engagement ranges, mobile enough to hold and peek aggressively. Riflers differentiate themselves by sub-role (entry, support, lurker, anchor) rather than by weapon. A team composition usually runs 1 AWPer, 1 IGL (often a rifler), and 3 dedicated riflers with different sub-roles. Because rifles are the most-used weapon, a player's rifle rating (how they perform in rifle-heavy rounds) is a major signal for their overall contribution.
