What is a map handicap in CS2 betting?
Map handicap is the most-used non-moneyline CS2 bet. On a Bo3, the two common lines are ±1.5: a -1.5 favorite must win 2-0, a +1.5 underdog just needs one map. On a Bo5 the line extends to ±2.5. Handicaps reduce variance — instead of betting "who wins the series" (high variance if teams are close), you're betting "does this team perform within ±1 map of expectation". Closing-line-value traders watch pre-match map-pool news closely because a handicap can swing 10+ basis points when a veto leaks.
